Charm
Bracelets are Gypsy in origin. Gypsies of all nations have
always worn talismans to ward off evil, bring money, ensure
health, and attract love. To those ends,we have created Gypsy's
Jewels; handcrafted, one-of-kind genuine Gypsy charm bracelets.
Most Gypsy art falls under the Altered Art category.
I have always called it Found Art... Because
I found the materials and inspiration in very strange places.
Perhaps it is the Gypsy Sight the enables me to see the alternative
lives these pieces could have and it is this promise of what
could be that guides my hands in the creating of these treasures.
We
call this one French Quarter Gothic.
It oozes old Louisiana charm (Pun intended) with it's pike
topped nails and voodoo glow. This piece may be a bit too
spooky for the average soul. Antique Bakelite buttons, vintage
beads and charms are carefully arranged in a mystical pattern
designed to assist it's owner when walking through the Shadowlands.
The tiny bat and scull bells along with the filigree cross
protect the wearer on the journey. The tiny glass eye
beads help you to see the way. The collection of beads
are faceted, molded and hand rolled - glass, Lucite, Clay,
silver and vintage plastic. This piece is for a true Goth
who knows their way through the dark. (I do not give Internet
lessons on the Shadowlands.)
I have designed this bracelet to be slightly adjustable. As
designed it measures 9". The maximum length of the chain
is 10'. I can move the clasp ring an inch larger and 2 "
smaller. There is a black cat charm with green rhinestone
eyes that did not show up in the photos. ( Not surprising...
they come and go as they please) My beloved Venus, our feral
calico is very fond of this piece. Did I forget to mention
that all of my treasures are inspected and blessed by the
12 cats who let me live with them? The role of Familiar
is mutual between us. When walking the fine tightrope between
worlds it is very helpful to have a charm enchanted by a coven
of cats!
